After it was all over, Adam Gilchrist let slip that Australian coach John Buchanan had probably started drawing up his plans from the moment the last ball was delivered in Chennai, three years ago. The Aussies had learnt their lessons from that defeat. They plotted and planned like zealots for the next campaign and hit the ground running. India, in contrast, didn''t seem to have anything remotely resembling a gameplan. If anything, their preparations may well have been undermined by the shambolic events that began right from the start of the season.  The scent of a rift seems to have wafted in and settled inside the Indian dressing room after the BCCI split the team into A, B and C grades of players, with contracts being awarded accordingly.
